House for sale in the old town of Scalea, this ancient house has the wow factor and has been the permanent residence of the present owner since 2009 during which time they have brought the house up to a high standard making sure little more ( if anything )is needed to maintain a house of this age, size and beauty. The house is located on the first stage of the old town which is divided into six stages zero to five. Zero being the piazza below and five the piazza at the castle. It is easily reached by walking up from Piazza Maggiore de Palma which has the closest restaurant and bars or by a short drive up to Piazza Cimalonga located on the second stage of the town and walking down for just a few minutes. From the house the beach is a seven minute walk while the town with shops, restaurants, bars and cafes is just five minutes away.
The age of the house is unknown but thought to be over five hundred years old and still has its original medieval floor plan. The only date associated with the house is when a family of nobility either moved in or when updating the building installed their family crest above the front door and dated it 1724. The house while located in a quiet part of town under the first defence walls and portcullis of the old castle has spectacular views of the sea, mountains and the towns on the plain below.
The house has been sympathetically decorated to relate to its antiquity.
