This traditional, character property, which has been renovated to the highest standard, is located in the historical centre of Falconara Albanese (cs), approx 50 mins drive north of Lamezia airport.
Falconara Albanese has its origins dating back many years to occupation from the Albanians and it still retains some of its traditions, although it is now a more traditional Italian village with its narrow streets and stone built properties.
The village itself has a variety of local amenities and the property is a 8km drive from the marina village of Torremezzo which benefits from a parade of café bars/gelateria, grocery shops, post office, pharmacy, aqua park, Go Kart track etc. and during the summer months a number of beach bars and lidos.
Torremezzo is conveniently positioned to explore the many traditional villages and to access the stunning National Park of La Sila. Here you can take advantage of the many year round activities that are on offer, including walking, pony trekking, quad bikes and in the winter months, skiing. Scuba diving and white-water rafting are activities that can be found nearby for the sportier types! While Thermal Springs and Spas can be found at short drive away at both Guardia Piemontese – Terme Luiguane or Lamezia – La Caronte.
The towns of Amantea and Paola are a 15 minute drive in each direction and as well as offering year round facilities and activities host a number of festivals and markets. They are both busy towns with all the modern amenities: variety of shops and boutiques, café bars, restaurants/pizzeria, gelatarias, pharmacies, post office etc. The charming old historical centre blends well with the modern and you can meander through the traditional narrow streets and enjoy the true feel of Calabria. The marina beach fronts offer beach bars and lidos, children’s play areas and a variety of seasonal activities.
